The Republic of Ireland government is banning disposable vapes to address two major concerns: Youth Vaping: Disposable vapes, often available in sweet flavours and at low prices, have become increasingly popular among teenagers. Studies indicate that a significant percentage of young vapers prefer disposables, raising concerns about nicotine addiction in minors. Environmental Impact: These single-use devices contribute to environmental pollution, with millions discarded weekly, leading to significant waste of materials like lithium and plastic.
Bringing disposable vapes into the Republic of Ireland for personal use is discouraged and may be subject to restrictions. Importing such products, especially in quantities suggesting resale, could lead to legal consequences under the new regulations.
The sale and supply of disposable vapes will be prohibited across the Republic of Ireland starting early 2027. This ban encompasses both nicotine-containing and nicotine-free single-use vapes. Vuse has already transitioned away from disposable vape products in Ireland.
